An Environmental University Exploration + Jazz Fest Group Tours Coming Up!

Our team at The Great Delta Tours partnered with Peter Martinet, Ph.D, at a Xavier University and Dinah Magarden, Ph.D, at UNO’s Coastal Education and Research Facility (CERF) in Bayou Sauvage Wildlife Refuge to provide a fun and enlightening group excursion for their students. Our goal was to expand the walls of students’ ecology class for a hands on exploration of one of the most important and fragile delta wetlands in the world! It is right in our very own back yard.

We visited the largest urban refuge within America in the city limits of New Orleans. Students learned of the richness of this Lake Pontchartrain existence and how its wetlands restoration is critical to the future of the New Orleans area.

There were also some of the best high fashion hiking boots to be found!!!

With all of this fun, education, and eco touring in the mix during this beautiful weather, we’re now looking towards New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival for quite a few more group tours on the horizon, too! You don’t have to be a student to discover America’s most beautiful wetland, so if you’re coming to town, too, make sure to grab a spot on our small, private coach to catch the gorgeous, green views.

It will make for some amazing memories!

Space is limited, but we’re looking forward to seeing all of you. Book your tour today.
